# Privacy

This site doesn't use cookies, ads, or third-party trackers. Any scripts on it are there to make the pages work, like the copy button on code blocks, and they don't send anything about you anywhere.

## Page views

I count page views so I know which posts people read. They're counted on the server, not by a script in your browser, and each view records:

- the page's address;
- the domain of the site that linked you here, if there was one;
- whether the page was fetched as a web page or as Markdown;
- whether the visit looked like a person, an AI agent, or another kind of bot, judged from your browser's user agent;
- your country, as reported by Cloudflare;
- whether the page was found.

Your IP address and full user agent aren't stored, and nothing links one view to another, so I can't tell whether two views came from the same person. The counts are kept in [Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine](https://developers.cloudflare.com/analytics/analytics-engine/), which [deletes them after three months](https://developers.cloudflare.com/analytics/analytics-engine/limits/).

## Hosting

Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it receives your IP address and browser details in order to deliver each page, and it handles them under [its own privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

## Links

Links to other sites, like X and GitHub, take you to places with their own privacy policies.

## Changes

If what the site records changes, this page changes with it, along with its "last updated" date.
